Lonely Planet Says...
Arguably (and probably) the best motel in town, Victoria Court is right in the middle of Wellington. The affable owners will check you in to their L-shaped collation of immaculate studios and apartments, complete with shimmery satin curtains, nifty low-voltage lighting, suede bed-heads and Scandinavian heating systems. Nifty indeed! Sometimes when you're swinging into a new town, you just want to spend the night in a clean, safe, above-board motel. No surprises, and value for money - this is the premise upon which every motel around the world trades, but it's something too few of them deliver.

Victoria Court definitely delivers, with abundant extra touches elevating it so far above its competitors that it's just not funny. Over two levels around a sizable carpark, these spotless, stylish studios and apartments feature spas, cooking facilities, suede couches, slick blonde-wood joinery and new flatscreen TVs. The larger units sleep up to six or seven - ideal if you're travelling with a Kombi full of friends. There are also two disabled-access units. You'll pay a few dollars more here than at your average drive-in roadside fleapit, but trust us, it's worth it. — Charles Rawlings-Way Lonely Planet author

Stay in this smart new complex and you can forget all about driving your car. It's just a hop, skip, and jump from central shopping and restaurants. What's more, the 25 units have much to offer in terms of value and comfort. The two-bedroom units especially are a gift for families or two couples traveling together, and when you see the smart kitchens, you might even feel inclined to cook.
